Be You. It is the Best You

Numbers 6:25, 26

The Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you, the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

Have you had that moment when you could finally understand what God has been trying to tell you?  It was like a revelation moment for me the day I realized I needed to just be me.  God had been trying to tell me to accept who I was and to like myself all along.  As I began to let go and literally put God in control, things started falling into place.  I have more peace as I go to work and I am truly happy within.  What a great place to be!

I can remember realizing that I was putting so much pressure on myself that I had become someone who was inauthentic. It was a defining moment for me. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes and decided to become me and I have never looked back. What joy and peace comes on who when you realize you can be you.  God wants us to be who he created us to be.

I think we can all fall into this rut of trying to be someone we are not to please others.  For me, I got caught up in the corporate world and I lost who I was.  You find yourself trying to please your boss and others with such intensity that you forget that really you need to look for that satisfaction from God.  That day, I chose by faith to trust in God and to please him first.

Since then, I have more confidence in myself because I don’t give into the pressure that I did before. I know who I am in God and what I am capable of doing. Today, I rarely step into a situation full of fear. I go into it knowing who I am with the confidence to perform as I need to.

Each morning as I prepare to start my day, I look into the mirror and say to myself “I am going to be Chantell today and walk in my calling. Today I will have favor with God and man.”

I encourage you wherever you are in your life, young or old, it is time to stand your ground and like the person you see in the mirror. Accept yourself and then take action and see what happens! I promise you will not be disappointed.

Heavenly Father, thank you for making me.  You know my ins and my outs.  You know everything about me.  I accept myself today and believe you have a purpose for me.  I know you accept me and so I put my trust truly and completely in you.  I believe in myself and I know I can be proud of who I am through you.  Help me to walk in peace today while my focus is on you, first, then others.  This is my day to have favor with God and man.  In Jesus Name, Amen.
