Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:58)
Many years ago I read a book by Marilyn Hickey called “Maximize Your Day.” This book impacted me so much that today I still remember it and apply what I learned from it to my life. It helped me plan my day and to not procrastinate. It helped me to remember that this day is the Lord’s day and to be ready for whatever he brings me.
You can actually get this book again because Marilyn just released it with a new cover and it is a must for your book library. Just go to her website www.Marilynandsarah.org
You have to really plan your day so that at the end of it you can know you got the most out of it. Not knowing your purpose for your day and walking along aimlessly will lead you to an unfulfilled life. You will never be able to reach your potential that way.
I started reading this book when I was in high school. Even at a young of age, I knew I had to plan my days so that I could make a difference. I started making sure I had time with God by getting up early in the morning and devoting my first few hours of the day to God. Giving God the first part of my day helped me to be spiritually sensitive to hear his voice.
I work in the marketplace and I connect with many people and situations each day. I ask God to use me today not only to have the wisdom to do my job but show me where I can insert myself in others’ lives to help them move forward. I am at all times ready for whatever comes my way. I believe you need to be on “go” because you never know what mission God has you going on that day. So, make the most of your day. Live each day to the fullest making sure you give back.
In making your day count, take time to line up your day and make sure you get 2-3 priorities completed. As you do this, add other things to your day which will keep you busy and on top of whatever is going on in your life. You will find that you are much happier because you are getting so much accomplished but at the same time you are making an impact wherever you go.
Be deliberate about your day today. Make an impact wherever you go!
Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank you for helping me to be organized and to maximize my day. To take my day to the next level. I don’t want to just coast in my day but be deliberate to not only hear you voice but to know the plan you have for me each day. I desire to walk through my day getting my work done in a timely manner and to be available for diving appointments that come my way. Help me to be consistent and steady in my work today. I want today to count and to count big for you. Use me today God to help others today and to make an impact in their lives. In Jesus Name, Amen.
